I heard two comments about the team's defense. The 11 points JMU scored in the second half was the smallest second half total since JPJ opened. The 34 points scored by both Syracuse and JMU was the lowest since 1943/44 when we defeated the powerhouse teams from Fort Belvoir and Woodrow Wilson Hospital. Of course this was before the 3-pont shot, so the record for futility might have been older. If our offense begins to catch up with the defense, we could have another interesting year.
