by a thousand cuts. Since the injury to Caitlin Clark ticket sales and television viewership has dropped about 30% even with a massive drop in ticket prices. Many basketball fans are not inclined to watch games in which layups and half court passes consistently are missed. In addition, it was recently reported that the coach of the Indiana Fever was hit with a massive fine for complaining about the obviously horrid officials. It seems that the league is trying to recoup lost ticket and merchandise revenue by fining anyone who has the audacity to complain about an obvious problem. When some of the players are criticized for poor and/or deliberately rough play, they accuse the critic of character flaws. Even some of the investors in the league seem to be tiring of consistently losing money.
