I have been hearing a couple of names the past few days in relation to UVa's search for an assistant coach to fill the vacancy Ritchie McKay left when he went back to Liberty.

According to several reports tonight, including Earl Austin, Jr. out of St. Louis, Lindenwood University head coach Brad Soderberg is set to join Tony Bennett's staff in Charlottesville. I haven't been able to confirm it yet but his was one of the handful of names I believed were seriously involved. Soderberg, a Wisconsin native who was an assistant for Dick Bennett at UW, is a long-time friend and colleague of Tony's. Feels like a great fit IMO.

When we get something official, we'll pass it along.

Edit: Added the full release from UVa making the hiring official.
