I admit, this year doesn't seem a whole lot different from last year but when I really looked at the first 3 games last year versus the first 3 this year I was surprised at the difference results wise. Of course, WnM is not as good as last year's Richmond, Indiana is probably on par with last year's Oregon who finished 4-8 but maybe better, and who knows about the two UConn teams. Anyway, here are te capsules.
2016 2017
0-3 2-1
17 point loss to Richmond 18 point win over WnM
18 point loss to Oregon 17 point loss to Indiana
3 point loss to UConn 20 point win over UConn
It may not feel like a whole lot of difference but there is some real tangible difference in the results so far, the wins versus losses and points for points against margin.
