The loss to IU was a bad one, but from an objective review we were more in that game than the score would lead the casual observer to believe. The UCONN game was a coming out party of sorts, and the beatdown of Boise State was for me a solid confirmation that we are turning the corner.
I think the players have bought in for a while and the results are starting to show. The fans are not as close to the program overhaul as are the players so it will take us a bit more time to be fully on board, but this shows me that the program is going in the right direction and Mendenhall knows what he is doing. Add to that all these young studs (some coming out of nowhere like Burton, Reinkensmeyer etc.) and the future looks very good. Our offense is exciting and our defense is swarming. Still plenty of things to work on, but the country and recruits, not to mention the fans themselves, have been put on notice that UVA is on its way back! Go Hoos!
