Three of the teams that UVA has played went down to defeat yesterday. UCLA was defeated by Arizona State. Notre Dame was edged by Clemson, and Bill and Mary lost on a last second field goal to mighty Delaware. Only Boise State won by shutting out a hapless Hawaii team which was blanked for the third time this year, but Boise still did not score as many points as they did against Virginia. Meanwhile, UVA's next opponent went on the road and defeated the national title contending Hokies in Bleaksburg. It appears that UVA will almost certainly have to win at least five of their remaining eight games to get an opportunity to play in a major bowl game.
