The WAR ROOM is back and this edition is full of football recruiting scoop! The Wahoos are back in action tomorrow afternoon when they host a key division rival and with that, they'll also be able to bring recruits to Charlottesville. We'll give you a break down of the key prospects that are expected to be in town, including one very important in-state target in the class of 2017 as well as other seniors. We'll also get into the long list of underclassmen that are expected to visit as well, a group that includes perhaps the state's best offensive line prospect regardless of class. Lastly, we'll touch on a couple of new offers that have gone out this week.

As always, what's said in the War Room, stays in the War Room. Let's go!

Another key visit weekend coming up
When Bronco Mendenhall and the Cavaliers host No. 22 North Carolina tomorrow afternoon, they'll not only be trying to stay in the hunt in the Coastal Division but will also have a number of key recruits in town.

We'll start, as we always do, with the official visitors and this weekend that list includes a party of one: Jeremiah Owusu. The 6-foot-3, 197-pound safety/linebacker from Bethel is a player we've talked about a lot her in recent months. Not only has the three-star defender matured physically (UVa sees OLB all the way here) but he's really improved on the field. He's been a key target for the staff for some time and depending on who you talk to about him, UVa is either comfortably in the lead or slugging it out with UMd and even Nebraska. It'll be interesting to see how he plays things out from here.

Outside of Owusu, the Cavaliers are also expecting to host a number of unofficial visitors including a pair of pair of committed guys in Westfield kicker Brian Delaney and three-star Millbrook running back P.K. Kier. In addition, there are several intriguing targets who will be in town including the Stockbridge (GA) Woodland duo of Wallace Corker, a 6-foot-3, 165-pound receiver who has offers from Minnesota and Oregon State, and Yusuf Corker Williams, a three-star cornerback who has a slew of offers including Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Ole Miss, UNC, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Stanford, and Virginia Tech, among others.

The Wahoos are also expecting to host Chris Pierce, the three-star wide receiver/linebacker from Smithfield who has great size at 6-foot-4, 201 pounds. If you'll recall, his is a recruitment that not too terribly long ago we thought would go UVa's way. But Mendenhall and Co. like Pierce on defense while he has generally been looking at schools that like him at receiver. So the fact that he's taking this visit might be a good sign for Virginia or it might not amount to much. We'll have to see how things go.

Lastly, for those looking for additional big men to add to the board, while the staff was expecting to host Isaac Buell, a 6-foot-4, 261-pound defensive end out of Knoxville (TN) Knoxville Central, they'll have to wait another week due to some scheduling issues. But they are still expecting Dakota Davis, a 6-foot-3, 260-pound offensive lineman from Knoxville (TN) Bearden who is still looking for his first FBS offer.

Nice group of underclassmen expected
While last weekend's visitor list was a little heavier on 2017 talent, the Wahoos are expecting to host a number of key prospects from other classes this weekend, none bigger (pun intended) than Nana Asiedu. The 6-foot-6, 270-pound tackle from North Stafford is already among the Rivals250 for 2018 and is currently the No. 13 OT in the nation. It's no wonder that he has offers from Auburn, Clemson, Duke, Georgia, LSU, Maryland, Michigan State, UNC, NC State, Tennessee, UVa, and Virginia Tech, among others. The Cavaliers have been in on Asiedu for quite some time and even though it's way too early to start handicapping his recruitment, sources have said for a while that the Hoos have a legit chance even though he's been more focused on the out-of-state options thus far.

He'll be joined on the trip by his high school teammate Devyn Ford, a 5-foot-11, 185-pound running back in the class of 2019. His offer list is already stout as well with Auburn, Clemson, Duke, Georgia, Michigan, UNC, NC State, Ohio State, Penn State, Pitt, Tennessee, UVa, and Virginia Tech, among others. Like with Asideu, the Wahoos are in the mix early.

Speaking of talented underclassmen, UVa is also expecting to host four-star Big Stone Gap tight end/athlete James Mitchell. The 6-foot-4, 210-pound Union standout has early offers from Duke, UVa, and Tech but this one is shaping up to be an in-state battle. Clearly, getting him in town for a game is a big positive.

Virginia is also expecting to host roughly two dozen other underclassmen this weekend including Darius Pickett, a 6-foot, 188-pound junior safety out of Owings Mill (MD) McDonogh, Scott Robinson, Jr., a 5-foot-11, 170-pound junior athlete from Rock Hill (SC) South Pointe, and Jalon Jones, a 2019 quarterback out of Henrico who will be visiting for the second weekend in a row. In addition, 2018 Washington (D.C.) H.D. Woodson running back Mychale Salahuddin and 2020 running back Chris Tyree out of Chester are also expected in town.

New offers out in 2017
Lastly this week, let's check in on a couple of new offers that the Cavaliers sent out this week.

The first went to a player we've talked about in the past, including last week in this space since he was planning to visit for the Pitt game and that's Darius Wise. Listed in the database as a running back, word we've heard is that the 5-foot-11, 173-pound athlete out of Beaver (PA) Beaver Area can play several different positions, including on both sides of the ball.

The other new offer went out to Ryan Swoboda, a 6-foot-9, 265-pound offensive lineman out of Windimere (FL) Windemere Prep. The Cavaliers were the first to offer the Sunshine State lineman, a former basketball player who has a lot of size but is a bit raw at this point.

That is it for this week, and as always, what's said here, stays here!
