perhaps I’m living in la la land, but I came out of that loss feeling great about our team. I mean, I didn’t think there was any shot we’d go into GT and come out with a win. And what happened?
1. We had a defense, already thin by injuries, play the triple option perhaps as well as any other opponent has done it against Georgia Tech this year. Discipline swarming to the ball, making stops. I could not of asked for anything more.
2. We lose our quarterback and what looks like a potential Season ending injury, and instead of folding like a tent as we might have likely done in the past, our back up comes in and leads us to a touchdown and give us back the lead.
3. After an incredible catch, George tech scores and leaves us one minute left. We come in, on the road, march down the field and take it to overtime. Prior squads would have been cooked by that point.
Everyone is jumping all over Bronco and Anae. Should’ve done this should’ve done that, blah blah blah. I say whatever man. We lost this game because they had an incredible catch on third down, and we had 2 key special teams errors that translated into points. Oh and their kicker is a bit better than ours. Sure we may have taken a couple of risks in spots that you might argue we shouldn’t half. But whatever hindsight is 2020 no guts no glory. You’re on the road in hostile territory, Trust your guys to take a effing risk and see what happens.
I’m disappointed in the result, but not calling for anyone’s head after what I saw to be an impressive performance on the road. Feeling good about disposing of the Hokies this week!!!
