CavsCorner Video: London Perrantes

No. 13 UVa got its second win in a row on Sunday night in beating Syracuse at home, though it came later than originally scheduled due to the snow storm. But the weather and schedule change didn't stop junior point guard London Perrantes from dropping 16 points (including four 3-pointers) and 7 assists. In this video interview, he talks about the win 73-65 win over the Orange.

Rotations

Seems like CTB may be zeroing in on his final rotations I think he has settled on the starters, and like having Salt banging to start the game, with MT coming off the bench. Everyone knows that it is who FINISHES the game that matters, not who starts. AS long as Salt is not screwing up (and so far he has played OK), he will continue to get his PT

That also brings Wilkins off the bench, where it looks like he is more comfortable as well. Doubt seriously we see the Gill/ Wilkins rotation except when the other team goes small.

As for the backcourt- looks more ad more like DT is the 4th Guard. Nolte looks like he will have the 5th slot, and he may see less PT if he continues to struggle.

Bottom line, looks like CTB is finally zeroing in on his rotations. As February unfolds, these kids will begin to jell more. By March?? based on what we see nationally, a cohesive Hoo squad can beat anyone.

Buzz and Tech

I will get crap for this, but the basketball guy in me knew this was the best hire that program could get at the time. He is a middle of pack coach in the ACC. The rivalry will be pretty good soon. He is different, but I must admit I enjoy watching him X and O. That said I hope we beat them by 30 at home.

Syracuse/UVa game thread...

Greetings from.....my couch. First home game I've missed in like six years because no way was my car making it out of the west end of Richmond (I miss my truck so much) and I'm pretty bummed about it.

Anyway....about 25 minutes or so until Syracuse and No. 13 UVa tip things off in Charlottesville. I'll be back in a few with starters.

As always, have at it folks...

New offer out on the OL...

So, we know that UVa offensive line coach Garett Tujague was out to see four-star offensive lineman Erik Swenson the other today, he of the Michigan-pulled-his-offer story. Well, then a bit ago there was this....

Well, it looks like we know who Tujague was talking about in the 214...

Dawson Deaton is a very good looking interior lineman prospect in the class of 2017. The three-star from Texas has a nice offer list already. Also, it's worth pointing out that since I started typing all of this, Deaton has retweeted that tweet from Tujague.

Latest on our basketball commits

As has been reported several times, Jerome is out for the year. He is scheduled to have the first hip surgery on January 25. Guy has not played since it was announced that he is a Burger Boy. In his last four games Huff has scored 11, 14, 20 and 15 points. Through 21 games he is averaging 17 points, 9 rebounds, and 5.7 blocks. As JUSAHOO previously posted, Huff is now ranked #71 by ESPN. This means that all four of our commitments are now in the top 100. Hunter has scored 14, 29, and 28 points in his last three games. In the first game his team won by 31 points so I would guess that Hunter may have had limited playing time.
