What 2016 Football recruit do you think can be a solid player down the road?

Granted we will find out who sticks after coaching change, but i don't see us losing any or if at all 2-3 guys because they all have to know what is going on with this staff

Abramson- Who knows because Johns is a class ahead of him and new staff might bring in their own GUY, but I like his skill set by year 3

Mack- Just looks like he can help us at CB or S down the line. Heck, he could push for time next year over the guys we have now who aren't that special imo

Terrell- Add 20-25 pounds to this kid and I see someone coming off the edge very nicely in a few years

Howard- Alshon Jeffery type. RS will do him wonders, but he will help at WR sooner rather than later

Moye- Another guy with 15-20 pounds that can be a player off the edge

Trainer- One of the few guys I would like seeing as a true freshman playing. TE's need to be a better piece going forward and he looks the part early

CavsCornerVideo: Latimore and Mizzell

Following UVa's 27-21 loss at Miami on Saturday, redshirt freshman cornerback Darious Latimore and junior running back Taquan Mizzell talked about their respective games. Latimore got his first extended amount of playing time from scrimmage as well as his first career interception while Mizzell continued playing at a high level, racking up 131 all-purpose yards while averaging 5.1 yards per run.

Duke Gets #1 Recruit in Giles

Saw that Harry Giles, the top basketball recruit for this year, committed to Duke today. He just suffered a torn ACL in his right(?) knee and is out for the season at Oak Hill. Duke just keeps on landing tremendous recruiting classes. While we might not be able to match them player for player, our continued success will help us keep recruiting top classes as well.

(See Rivals has him as #2.)

A nice blurb about Jay Huff

Huff is playing in a prep tournament this weekend. Corey Evans, who writes HoopSeen.com, wrote, "What Tony Bennett has coming to Charlottesville next fall is a major weapon at the 5-spot who brings many unique qualities. There are a lot of shades of Frank Kaminsky to him, and you can bet the house that before Huff's college career is over with he will have outperformed the minimum rankings placed onto him from those throughout the scouting universe."
When you consider that Huff is already a 3* in some rating services and a 4* in others, has one more year of high school ball, and then will spend a year with Curtis bulking up, he could bring a lot of excitement to UVA fans for several years.

The head coach sets the tone for the team

He can be a leader or he can be an ornament. Many of you may have noticed how I have been posting 6-6 is a possibility. Many of you are misunderstanding the observation for some sort of backing of Mike London and/or a sign of real progress. What I see is a defense that is playing much better, 26 and 21 points given up against high octane UNC and GT the last two games. AND, I believe there was a near pick 6 in both games (4 INTs versus UNC) giving the opponent red zone field position? So, you might could say the D gave up 19 and 14 points against those offenses. ALSO, incredible considering the offensive line injuries, but UVa has rushed the ball for 204 and 233 yards those two games. The different styles of running backs is a weapon and they seem to really be hitting their stride.

Now, you may be wondering where I am going with this considering the thread title. We have talked about the Mike London follies, ad nauseam. The timeout issues, the pregame pep talks, the delay of game penalties, the half time interviews, the sideline demeanor.....let us put all that to the side. Many of you have also read me post that when UVa wins against a FBS or ACC team, they are always hanging on for dear life at the end in a game they should win by three scores. It happened again Saturday. Up 27-13, UVa went into its scared it was going to win mode and frittered away at least two series of downs by running into the center's butt three times. Here is where a head coach needs to take charge. He needs to walk over to Steve Fairchild, slap him upside his cranium and say, "DON"T STOP ATTACKING, BURY THESE GUYS!" If this ever happens, I will start to actually have some real hope. I mean, if UVa were to have gotten up on GT 27-13 last week and actually extended the lead with an attacking drive like the game wasn't over (because it wasn't over), we might have witnessed a real turning point. As it is, UVa could win 3 of the last 4 games in much the same fashion and no real progress would have taken place. Mike needs to coach the team and that includes the damn assistants. Stop being a hood ornament!
