Preview: @justin ferber gets you set for what has turned into a fairly big ACC showdown in the Steel City tonight between No. 11 UVa and Pitt (9 p.m., ACCN).
We did not always agree, and I felt that he sometimes took differences of opinion personally. But he loved UVA and UVA sports, and that earned him some bonus points in my book. Happy New Year, Arden, wherever you are!
They'll tip it up at the top of the hour in Atlanta where Reece Beekman is back for the Hoos. They'll go to their "normal" starting five with Clark, Franklin, Gardner, and Shedrick joining him.
I hope that Tony had something to do with the charges that our guy's were taking today. It just seem like they were ready to take them , there has been a lot of times when I would be watching the defense and ask my self wonder why a certain player in that moment didn't just take a charge. Anyway we really had it going on both ends. We will need that to carry over to the Tuesday night game against Pitt.
This is at least four times he has committed. In the spring of 2022 he pitched 6.2 innings as a sophomore. He gave up 1 hit and 1 run and had a 1-0 record. He hit .231 with 3 hits in 13 at bats.
Although I was not able to watch the game, a friend told me that several of the UT players in the Orange Bowl game were wearing UVA helmet stickers. I think that is pretty cool.
Nice article. I really like the side-by-side image they created. I didn't realize Holland wasn't doing well - Alzheimer's sucks - I wouldn't wish it on any family.
Really good game on ESPN. Travis has become a pretty darn good passing QB, and their coach deserves alot of credit developing him. I had my doubts but he is reading the OK D pretty well and he has a load of really good receivers to throw to, all of whom run good routes. travis has made one poor throw they picked, but he has made a lot of good decisions. In the 4th Qrtr tied at 25.
Here’s a copy of the email I got from AD Carla describing our NIL and how to help.
Thank you for your continued support of UVA Athletics. The college athletics landscape is continuing to evolve and, as you likely know, last year, it became permissible for student-athletes to benefit from the use of their name, image and likeness (NIL). As the NIL landscape has also evolved, I want to make you aware of some of the current opportunities that exist for our student-athletes and how you can get involved.
Early in the spring of 2022, a small group of trusted alumni committed their time and resources to establish Cav Futures, a collective designed to assist all student-athletes at the University of Virginia to capitalize on their NIL for lifetime success. In March, Cav Futures introduced Lo Davis as the Executive Director and established their 3 pillars:
(1) to provide an inclusive marketplace for student-athletes to capitalize on their NIL and allow supporters to engage with student-athletes in compliance with current University, NCAA, state and federal policies and legislation.
(2) utilize NIL branding to better the Charlottesville community through community and social activism.
(3) provide education, readiness and networking in order to maximize student-athletes' potential through NIL, professional readiness and long-term career placement.
We remain steadfast in our commitment to academic and athletic excellence and, in order to continue the proud tradition of success at UVA, a robust NIL program is now part of the equation.
We need your help! NIL opportunities can benefit the community, businesses, fans, student-athletes and anyone who supports the Hoos.
To engage with our student-athletes, you can:
SUPPORTCav Futures to help UVA student-athletes with their NIL endeavors.
JOIN the Cav Club, this is the best way to connect with your favorite student-athletes.
He goes into Dunn’s +/- offense and defense which is surprising, but I’m sure his offense is going to catch up. He goes into McKneely vs Franklin, getting Shedrick back going, and what’s wrong with Gardner’s shot.
Five-star forward Jarin Stevenson talked to @HoustonWilson about his recent trip to UVa and what he’s hearing from Tony Bennett and Co. about how he’d might fit if he ultimately picked the Wahoos.
Do ya'll remember Adam Hall. It hit me today that Dunn reminds me of Hall. Both are Big and bouncy and athletic who play good defense. Hall wan't a big scorer so I'm hoping Dunn is better offensively. Hall could really jump out of the gym and I remember him doing a lot of high flying dunks. What do ya'll think?
Preview: @justin ferber sets the table ahead of tonight’s non-conference matchup in Charlottesville as No. 13 UVa looks to get back on track with a win over Albany (6 p.m., ACCN).
