This year's team is different from the past 3 teams (if not more) mainly in that we don't have a legit knockdown shooter on the team. Our brand seems to be strong defense, balanced scoring attack. and transition points based on athletic defense. This year's team needs it's PG to be as much of an offensive threat as all 4 other players on the floor. He won't have the luxury of passing, then screening away for a knockdown shooter like JH or a guy like J. Anderson to curl into the lane for some offense. We don't even have the security on the glass we're used to having without AM and DA. We don't have this stable structured offense that you can simply "set up." LP is mainly a threat when no one is looking for him. He's a C+ shooter, avg. defender, he's reluctant to get inside the lane and has never been a particularly good finisher around the rim or otherwise.

I like what Hall, then Thompson can do in this role. Their ability to create offensively and get inside the lane would give this team that lacks it's identity some needed edge. Plus both guys are plus passers and plus athletes. Just more dynamic for what we need.

LP would be perfect off the bench. I think he would also play looser without having the pressure on him of being a starter.
