Haseley started and went 6 innings. He gave up 5 hits and 2 runs, only 1 of which was earned. Donahue came in to start the 7th. The first batter reached on an error. After getting one out, he gave up a run scoring double. Wilson came in and got the first batter out before allowing a walk, a single, and a 3 run home run. Because of the error, all 5 of the Hokie runs were unearned. Eikhoff got his first home run of the year in the 2nd to start the scoring for the Hoos. McCarthy followed with a triple and scored on a Clement single. UVA added 2 more runs in the 5th on a Haseley single, and doubles by Smith and Coman. The fifth run came home in the 7th when Clement reached on an error, was sacrificed to 2nd, and came home on a single by Haseley. Haseley, Smith, Simmons, and McCarthy each had 2 hits for the Hoos.
