There were 4 innings of frustration for Virginia followed by 5 innings of fun. The Heels scored 3 runs in the first inning on 4 hits as Virginia was 0 for 9 with runners in scoring position in the first 4 innings. We then scored 2 in the 5th, 1 in the 6th, 3 in the 7th, and 2 in the 8th. UNC did not score after the 1st inning until they tallied 1 run in the 8th. The Cavs were led at the plate by Anderson who had 3 RBi on a 4 for 5 day; Saucke was 3 for 5 with 1 RBi; Godbout was 2 for 5 with 1 RBi; Teel was 2 for 5 and scored 3 times; and O'Donnell was 2 for 6 with the only home run of the game. Virginia had 15 hits in the game with 12 singles and 2 doubles to go with the home run.
Edgington pitched 5.2 innings and gave up 3 runs on 7 hits. Hodorovich came in and pitched 1.1 innings without allowing a hit or run ( I assume that he got credit for the win); Woolfolk pitched the final 2 innings and gave up the final run on 1 hit and 3 walks.
