Coach Tony Bennett has shown a keen interest in Anderson's injury, even having his own fingers taped up by trainers so he knows exactly what his player's limitations are on the court.

VCU has had to head West once again after beating Dayton for the A10 championship. Dayton coach Archie Miller is all angst about having to play Boise at home because Boise has such a good road win record. If Dayton gets by Boise, at home, they travel to Columbus OH for the next round. Coach Miller said "If we were playing a regular-season game at home versus Boise State, you'd be sick to your stomach because you know what you're in for." Well Archie maybe you would rather go West.

Daniel Lynch made two bad pitches in five innings against Lee-Davis as Adam Trice hit two home runs which drove in all four runs in defeating Douglas Freeman. Lynch struck out 11 and walked none in five innings. Will Allocca, a 2016 commitment from Collegiate, was 2 for 3 in his first game. Every thing that I have hear about Allocca is that he is a very good prospect as a catcher.

If JA looks better this weekend, I would love to see Hoos v. UL, Georgetown v. Davidson, Notre Dame v. MD, and UNC v. VCU. See if you detect the theme (with one omission).

Who is everyone else rooting for?

UVA obviously missed me because they combined good hitting and good pitching to defeat Towson 8 - 0. Bettinger pitched the first 5 innings to get the win. Roberts pitched 2 and was followed by Rosenberger and Sborz who pitched 1 each. Towns led the UVA offense by going 4 for 4 with 3 runs and 3 RBI.

Titus weighs in on the winners/losers on selection sunday. I think you can guess how he feels about UVA getting a 2 seed. For the record, we're playing in the easiest bracket, so I've got no problem with UVA being dropped to a 2. But, nonetheless, enjoy.

In the ESPN article on GT retaining Gregory, a Washington State fan chimed in and said the following:

"Only takes a coach in over his head like Ken Bone here..and Brian Gregory there to totally run down a program.Team up here was lucky enough to have Dick and Tony Bennett for 6 seasons and it took Bone about 3 to run it into the ground.On the flip side....Im 130 miles from Spokane and watching Gonzaga all these years..you see how a program is supposed to be run...little turnover,wide-spread recruiting,key transfers,rabid fan-base."

Oh yea the Hoos are so elated to have TB; I can remember people not happy with his "style"

The Hard Hedge

In case you missed it earlier on the front page, Ferber takes a look at UVa's pod in Charlotte this weekend where there will be plenty of storylines surrounding the Cavaliers as they begin play in the NCAA Tournament.

Just watched it, and I have to admit I don't hate him like I used to when he was playing. He was one clutch player, mean as a snake but would cut your throat if he had the chance. Turns out he was a pretty decent person too. Good for him. I think this movie will change a lot of perceptions and cause people to be more begrudging than hateful.

"I think we're just going to have to get our minds right for what we're going into," he said, "and understand that nobody is going to lay down for us because we have Virginia on our shirt. We have to go back to being the underdog. That means coming out there and setting our temp and really going out there and playing Virginia Basketball."


Always have said Uva sports plays tight when we aren't the underdog. I like the kids mindset, now we just need to play ball
