2024-25 Question- who is our Go to guy?

Now that I've retired, have even more time to obsess about Hoos hoops. In reviewing last season was reminded that we were 7-1 in "close" games- 3 points or less or game that went into OT. Only 1 of the 11 losses was close- rest all blow outs. Really think Beekman had a big part in the close wins. So who will be "the guy" this season at crunch time? Honestly don't know.

Would hope Warley because of his size and ability to get to the rack, but don't know if he has "it" factor. Really don't see anyone else- since Imac is more a shooter who will be smothered at crunch time.

Think next year we could have a better TEAM, but a worse record- if that makes any sense. More close losses because of lack of a "go to" scorer. Power/ Saunders tandem could be outstanding, but don't see either as a creator type. So where do we go for a must get hoop?

Basketball Recruiting Updates

Some updates.....

UCLA is doing everything they can to try and keep Trent Perry in LA. Right now they do not have any more scholarships available but there has been some talk about pushing a kid out to make room for Perry. Perry's parents do not want him at UCLA but it is pretty obvious Perry does not want to be far from home.

Aidan Mahaney was strongly considering UVA. It sounds like that UConn might have had a stronger NIL pitch.

UVA is completely in play for TJ Power. The three schools getting the most noise right now are Wake Forest, UVA and Notre Dame. I think things will be escalating quickly with him. He has visited Virginia before so he does not really have to visit again. He knows the place.

Right now I am not hearing any other names... I am sure the staff has some names of guys they are keeping tabs on right now but I am not sure. This week will be very interesting... As I know more, I will keep you guys informed.
