Virginia was able to win in spite of excessive stupid, unnecessary, and imaginary penalties largely because Bettridge made all three of his field goal attempts while the Duke kicker missed one of his three attempts, and the Cavs recorded 2 official defensive turnovers while they did not turn the ball over.
