VT schedule

How does VT get their 2023 FB schedule with no UNC, no Duke and no Miami? All teams in their division. And yet they get Syracuse, BC, Wake, NC State, and Louisville. WTF...just don't understand that scheduling. Basically two tough games all year, FSU and Louisville.

Preseason polls say plenty about where UVa might land

While preseason polls and prognostications aren’t everything, they do tell us plenty about where a team might be in the big picture. @justin ferber takes a look at what they mean for this year’s UVa squad and how things are setting up.

Lots of lineup options for UVa hoops this upcoming season

Column: Three weeks before the tip, UVa's season is full of intrigue

Column: With three weeks left until it tips off, UVa’s preseason is full of intrigue. If the Wahoos do in fact get “better and better” as Tony Bennett said Saturday, it could be an even more interesting season than expected.

Virginia is hosting one of the top prospects from the recruiting class of 2025 today as the program showcases this season’s team in the annual Blue-White scrimmage (see related story for starting times of men’s and women’s scrimmages, autograph sessions) at John Paul Jones Arena.

Jacob Wilkins, the son of nine-time NBA All-Star Dominique Wilkins, will be in the house as Wahoo fans get a sneak peak at Tony Bennett’s new team. Wilkins is a 6-foot-8, 4-star forward from Lilburn, Ga., and is ranked the No. 16 overall prospect in the nation for ‘25.

Wilkins, who was offered by UVA in mid-July, also holds offers from Alabama, Georgia, Indiana and Cincinnati. His father was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2006.

Miami GT

Unbelievable #17 Miami loses at home to bad GT team who just got their butts kicked by Bowling Green at home last week. GT embarasses the ACC two weeks in a row. Anyways, maybe the dumbest coaching call ever. Miami had 3-point lead with 34 seconds left, and GT had no timeouts. All Miami had to do was take a knee to win game, instead Miami ran the ball and fumbled. Proceeded to give GT a TD to lose the game. Stupid, stupid, stupid coaching call by Miami.
