QB depth at the quarterback position

The popular consensus seems to be that Tony Musek (senior) and Jay Woolfolk (junior) will be contending for the job as the starting QB, but there are six other QBs who hope to be in the conversation when September arrives. They are Jared Rayman (5th year), sophomores Grady Brosterhous, Delany Crawford, Davis Lane, and Devin Sherwood, and freshman Anthony Colanrea. Some things are certain - one or more of these players will be given a chance at another position, and some will redshirt, and regardless of whoever wins the job, many fans will want someone else to start.

Three-star DB Franklin talks about picking the Wahoos

LSU defeated Florida 4-3 in 11 innings

In spite of having eight teams with powerful offenses in Omaha, pitching has dominated. In the Super Regional games the offenses were explosive. Wake Forest averaged 13.5 runs in their two games, LSU 11 in 2 games, UVA 10 in 3 games, Oral Roberts averaged 9 in 3 games; The other four teams averaged between 4.5 runs (Florida) and 5.3 runs.
In the World Series games leading up to tonight, no team has averaged more than 4.7 runs per game (Florida) and the least was 2 runs per game (Wake Forest). No team has scored more than 6 runs in any single game; this has been done five times by five different teams. Very good hitting teams made it to Omaha, but excellent pitching has led to wins in Omaha.

Omaha

I’m a little surprised no one has commented on the game last night. I know nothing about baseball, but it seemed that our shaky bullpen let us down. I am amazed that they could hit three home runs but we couldn’t even come close.
