A quick look at UVA's first year pitchers

First is the bad news. Evan Sperling had Tommy John surgery this summer and will red shirt in the spring .Connor Eason is a LHP who went 8-3 with a 1.12 ERA last year. He was named the USA Today Athlete of the Week and was the All-Tidewater Player of the Yea. Daniel Lynch is a LHP who was injured much of last year but was 8-1 with a 1.01 ERA as a junior. Grant Sloan is a RHP. He was 4-1 last year with a .079 ERA. Chesdin Harrington is a RHP who was on the 2nd team VA 5A all state team. Grant Donahue is another RHP. He had a .039 ERA as a junior and was the outstanding pitcher in the Maryland All-Star Game last year.

Coaching buyout

As it has been said before but now confirmed by Dave Teel's paper article today, it would cost us a total of 4.1M to buyout the entire coaching staff at seasons end. 3.5M of it belong to London and Tenuta. 250K belongs to Beatty who I would like to see stay and the rest is divided amongst Archer, Oliver, and the other assistants. Also the buyouts get reduced by any coaching related salary they receive from another school so it is safe to assume that many of the assistants will find other jobs.

So what are the winds whispering today? London will be gone after the season is over. Don't expect an announcement before the season is over. Just not CL's or the University's style especially since there are no off the field issues.

An interesting point that Teel made was that buyouts get paid monthly instead of all at once which I thought was very interesting and something I had not really thought about. Thankfully we are not paying any former coaches any longer unlike Tech which is paying two former basketball coaches to not coach.

Latest on Tanner Morris - 2017 UVA baseball commit

Tanner played for Team Evoshield which finished second to Evoshield Canes in the Perfect Game WWBA World Championship Tournament in Jupiter, FL. The Canes team consisted primarily of high school players who will graduate in 2016 while Team Evoshield was made up primarily of players from 2017 and 2018. Tanner had 6 hits, including a double and a home run, in the tournament and had a team leading 9 RBI.

A Question About QB'S (Brad, Or Anyone)

Earlier, I read a bio on Conner Brewer. I know he has been to a couple of schools, Texas and Az, I think, and I guess neither of them have great QB's, but they have appearantly beat him out. Maybe he is just another high school superstar that could not really make it on the college level, but he was impressive coming out of H.S. He comes fro a family full of athletes an Has anyone seen him? Could he give us another option? Or is he just another strong armed, kid that was an ESPNU top 150, Sporting News Top 25 prospect that was the starter in the Under Armour All Star Game, won 3 straight 5 A Arizona State Titles, while throwing for 7574 yards and 100 TD's on 441 of 686 ((64 %) in those three years while leading his team to a 41-2 record (following 9-0 as a FR), named to several ALL American teams including the ESPN Rise team as a JR, National Honor Society member aith a 4.1 H.S. GPA, son of former Ms Ga and brother to 2 pro baseball, including 1 Major Leauger, is active in Big Brothers, Feeding Homeless, Special Olympics FCA guy that just doesn't fit our current style even though we just gave him a Schollie to come here kind of guy? Ha ha

CavsCorner Video: Anthony Gill

Senior forward Anthony Gill has a lot of experience under his belt, lessons that he's hoping he can use to not only help his teammates but also allow him to improve during his final year at UVa.

In this video interview, Gill talks about how much more teaching he's doing this season, how he helps the younger guys as well as those who are sitting out this season, how he focused on his jump shot in the offseason, that he wanted to make deeper connections with his teammates, and what does it mean for him and the other big men if the Wahoos play a little faster this season.

CavsCorner Video: Taquan Mizzell

Junior running back Taquan Mizzell had his best game on the ground as a Cavalier on Saturday in UVa's 26-13 loss to North Carolina.

In this video interview the Virginia Beach native talks about how badly he wanted to have a game like that, how much he credits the offensive line for playing well in front of him, how he thinks that group has come together and improved, how its "hurts" to lose a game like that, and how it doesn't matter how well one player plays if the team can't get a win.

Tix to GT

I can't go, Halloween and all.
Can't find anyone that wants them.
So, if you will go, cheer on the team, they are yours free - no scalpers, no GT fans. I live in Richmond, so you can pick them up, or I'll mail them to you at your expense.
6 Tix with parking pass, excellent seats.
First one that responds.

Bill O'Brien

Should have stayed in college. Texans will fire him, but he is a decent offensive guy if the next coach needed a pro style guy. Yes he would be Musgrave and leave after a few years, but I thought he did ok at Penn St with the lack of talent he had on offense.

Beamer is done too

Tech has to force his retirement now. Just scored and you onside kicked.

You kick a 67 yard FG that almost broke for a return TD

This is the worst case scenario for us because if you're looking for coaches at the same time they are more attractive job right now. When is the last time this game has been a joke on both sides? Both teams are horribly bad

James Madison

Does anybody know anything about this coach? 7-0 this year. Very good coaching tree. Young energetic guy and his performance on gameday just now was very impressive.

Also, anybody who complains about uniforms should watch the players' reaction when he unveiled the helmet they are going to wear today. Kids care about that stuff.

OT: Kirk Cousins tells the naysayers to get off his back

33-40, 317 passing yards, 3 touchdown passes, 0 interceptions, 1 rushing touchdown, game winning throw with 24 seconds to go. One fumble but our very own Morgan Moses didn't lay one finger on the defender and he was to Kirk from he backside in 2.3 seconds. This QB may not be Aaron Rodgers buthe is light years ahead of RG3. I have always had his back and think he could eventually make a pro bowl or two.
