July Live Period

It has been a wild 11 days so far in July as the first live period ran from Thursday-Sunday. The summer's second and last live period is this Saturday and Sunday. I have been in the gym every day since last Wednesday and my goal for the rest of this week is to catch up with some UVA targets that have recently gotten offers from Virginia or received heavy interest. Stay tuned for some updates!

Four-star hometown PG Mallory (2025) talks UVa offer

For four-star STAB point guard Chance Mallory (2025), the offer from UVa is one that he’s obviously always wanted. @HoustonWilson caught up with the hometown product to discuss the Hoos, what it means to get the offer, and where things stand.

My 21st century UVA baseball team

I limited the team to players who have played in the last 25 years for a number of reasons. I do not anticipate that all who read this post will agree with a few, some, or most of my choices. I promise to not kick your dog if you note others whom you would choose. My choices are: pitchers - Andrew Abbott, Sean Doolittle, and Danny Hultzen, catcher - Kyle Teel, first base - Pavin Smith, second base - Ernie Clement, third base - Ryan Zimmerman, shortstop - Chris Taylor, and outfielders - Adam Haseley, Jake McCarthy, and Jarrett Parker. I have donned my asbestos skivvies, so feel free to respond.

Andrew Abbott year to date

Abbott was 4-0 in the minor leagues before being called up to the Reds. He pitched 54 innings and recorded 90 strike outs and 2.5 ERA. Since being called up the Reds, he has started 6 games, and the Reds have won all 6. His record is 4-0 with 42 strike outs in 37.1 innings. His 1.21 ERA is the best ever for the first six games in one year by a Reds pitcher. He had his longest outing of any Reds pitcher this year going 7.2 innings and allowing just 1 run. He had a personal best major league 12 strike outs in the game.

Four-star F Ament (2025) likes what he's building with UVa

Four-star forward Nate Ament, No. 39 overall in 2025, likes the early conversations he’s had with UVa’s coaches. @HoustonWilson caught up with the in-state target to talk about what he’s hearing from the Hoos.
